Unique Fey (20 RP)
While half-human, Eirwyn mostly takes after her fey mother. Unlike Queen Adalyn, Eirwyn does not have the fey creature or winter fey templates, and has the human subtype. Though possessing the physical and magical features of a fey, Eirwyn’s mindset is very much that of a human girl’s. The race building rules here are found in Chapter Four of the Advanced Race Guide.

The teenaged daughter of Julius Davenoak, Eirwyn was conceived during an encounter between the paladin and a dark fey. Her mother, Queen Adalyn, sent her to her father when she was only a year old, and Eirwyn was raised by her step-mother, Cornelia. Though Julius made claims that Queen Adalyn manipulated his mind and blamed his infidelity entirely on fey magic, neither he nor his wife treated Eirwyn as anything but their own child.

Eirwyn’s fey blood causes her to age and mature much slower, despite her being fifty-nine years old. As a child, she looked up to her half-brother Marcus, who despite being born after her she saw as an older sibling. Despite her fey heritage, her religious views are human. Eirwyn worships both Lathander, the deity who blessed her father with his holy powers, as well as Chauntea, who her step-mother’s family of farmers have long venerated. Eirwyn has a kind and caring heart, and has sought peace between her parents ever since Cornelia’s passing.

Update: Eirwyn first met the party after they fought their way into the Faengard and defeated her mother and her guardians, who had arrived after being falsely told by Julius that she had been kidnapped. Deeply saddened by her father sending agents to kill her mother, Eirwyn did what she could to keep the situation under control, and after calming down her mother returned to confront her father.

Later, Aldrin would also speak with Julius, and convince the man to let go of his hatred and denial and to at least speak with Queen Adalyn. Finally willing to begin to move past his grief over his wife’s death and admitting that perhaps he was at fault for the actions leading to Eirwyn’s birth, Julius went with his daughter to the Faengard. The unnatural winter that had overtaken the Yuirwood began to subside as Adalyn’s emotions settled.

It was decided that Eirwyn was to wed Aldrin so that Julius’s holy avenger sword, Caromyr, would accept him as part of the bloodline which sealed away the dark power contained within, as was dictated by the Solar responsible for sealing it. The wedding was simple and traditional, but the happiness was brought to an end when Marcus, who Eirwyn had long thought dead, arrived and battled her father and newly wed husband. Julius was slain and his remains thrown before his daughter.

After hearing of her love’s death, Queen Adalyn also destroyed herself without so much as a word to anyone, transforming herself into a spirit of vengeance to free herself of the bindings that held her in the Faengard so that she might seek Julius’s killer. With both of her parents gone, and shunned from Algarondians due to her fey nature, Eirwyn is left only with her new husband for support.
