The broken soul now referred to as “Isseon’s Favorite” is an antipaladin whose body and mind have been so twisted that she can think of nothing but her loyalty to Duke Isseon, the one who made her into what she is now. The Favorite is his toy, the object of his endless sadism and torment.

Before she was violated and tortured by Isseon, the Favorite was once a girl from Vesta named Viola, the daughter of a highly decorated general that was targeted early in the war. From a young age, Viola showed exceptional compassion and empathy for others. Her birth was auspicious, and many believed Sol Victoria had blessed the child. Before she was old enough to join a knighthood, however, she was separated from her family and encountered Duke Isseon.

Despite the incubus’s outward appearance, Viola saw through to his soul and knew he was once a righteous paladin. Claiming he was not so fallen that he could not turn away from darkness despite having become a demon, Viola begged that he stop the death and destruction. This disturbed Isseon, and he set out to prove to both himself and the girl who wrong she was.

While cruel and heartless, nothing Isseon did to Viola could make her recant. Infuriated, Isseon instead discovered that Viola had a sister, and set to watching her from a distance instead. Using her sister’s well-being as a threat, Isseon gradually eroded Viola’s sanity by forcing her to inflict injuries upon herself. Her body and mind were broken in unison, and when Viola would no longer answer Isseon he rebuilt her into a mindless killing machine. All virtue and goodness of Viola was blacked out by constant pain, but in the end Isseon never broke her spirit.
