Gear +1 mithral heavy steel shield, armor of righteousness, sun blade

Armor of Righteousness: While this armor leaves much of Sir Aimery’s chest exposed and leaves little to imagine as far as his “righteousness” is concerned, he has learned to make the most of the armor and benefits from full protection. When worn by Sir Aimery, the plate arms and leggings count as +1 rallying mithral full plate armor, providing a +4 morale bonus to Will saves versus fear to all of his allies within 30 feet, who cannot help but find themselves inspired by his bravery.

Sun Blade: A gift from Pholtus, this sun blade is a mighty weapon that strikes like a +2 bastard sword. Against evil creatures, the weapon’s enchantment bonus increases to +4, and against creatures from the negative energy plane or undead it deals double damage and increases critical strikes from x2 to x3. In addition, once per day Aimery can raise the weapon above his head and with a prayer to Pholtus channel natural sunlight from the blade itself, which starts in a 10-foot radius around him and spreads outwards for 5-feet a round for the next 10-rounds, ending as a 60-foot globe of light around him which lasts for a full minute before dissipating.

Sir Aimery Carinus is a paladin of the Oeridian god of light, resolution, and sunlight: Pholtus. More than most paladins, he believes that law and order are the tools to which happiness can be spread to people. His order believes that questions of morality are secondary to faithfulness to Pholtus and the One True Way. Thus, while he tolerates the practices of other paladins of the House of the Just, he’s never quite accepted them. While composed of holy warriors of clearly lesser knighthoods, he does recognize that they are closer to his religious ideals than most other organizations ever would be and keeps his opinions to himself.

While he first arrived on the Rock from Oerth years ago, little of Aimery’s point of view has changed from the diverse culture. He still views Pholtus as the one god above all others, and has refused to accept any point of view contrary to his own. Unlike what many would expect from a rigid warrior like Sir Aimery, he doesn’t let his opinions lead him to wanton death. Though he desires to bring order and remove chaos, he does believe in the possibility of atonement and conversion to service of good, preferably with devotion to Pholtus, and prefers peaceful solutions over violence.

While he has yet to acknowledge it, Sir Aimery has become a bit of a local hero in Bral, and attracts a large amount of admirers. He’s been voted as the number one Bachelor on Bral three times now, and has been in the top five since he came to the Rock.
